WordSearch-SCCL app for iPhone and iPad

SCCL WORD SEARCH is an online mobile phone/tablet App developed by Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL) with Chinese language teachers at Singapore primary and secondary schools as target users. The main function of this App is word query and the information provided by the App includes: (a) definitions of the word, (b) the levels/grades of the word in which it appears in the Singapore Chinese textbooks in, (c) common collocations of the word, (d) examples of the word in-use in the textbooks, (e) examples of the word in-use in the Singapore Students Daily Written Chinese Corpus , (f) synonyms and antonyms of the word, and (g) statistical information on the usage and distribution of the word etc. The Editing function of the App enables users to add English definitions and remedial suggestions. Based on local textbooks and other authentic materials, the App can provide large amount of linguistic information on commonly used words and can assist Chinese language teachers in preparing lessons and designing test items.
